🎓 JEE Counselling Expert - JoSAA & CSAB 2026

What is JEE Counselling?

JEE counselling is the process through which students get admission to premier engineering institutions in India based on their JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank. The counselling is conducted in two phases:

JoSAA Counselling

Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts counselling for IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTI colleges in 6 rounds

CSAB Special Rounds

Central Seat Allocation Board fills remaining vacant seats in NIT, IIIT, and GFTI after JoSAA rounds

📌 Important: JEE Advanced qualifiers can participate in both JEE Main and Advanced counselling. JEE Main qualifiers can only participate in JEE Main counselling (NIT, IIIT, GFTI).

Complete JoSAA Counselling Process

Step 1: Registration

Register on JoSAA portal using JEE Main/Advanced credentials. Pay registration fee (₹20,000 for Gen/OBC, ₹10,000 for SC/ST).

Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking

Fill preferences for institute-branch combinations. You can fill up to 200+ choices across all participating institutes.

Step 3: Seat Allotment (6 Rounds)

JoSAA conducts 6 rounds of seat allotment. Results are announced on scheduled dates. You get ONE seat per round based on your highest unfilled preference.

Step 4: Acceptance & Fee Payment

Three options after seat allotment:

Accept & Freeze: Confirm admission, withdraw from further rounds
Accept & Float: Pay fee, remain in pool for better options in next rounds
Reject: Don't want this seat, participate in next rounds

Step 5: Document Verification & Reporting

Physical/online document verification at allotted institute. Submit original documents and complete admission formalities.

CSAB Special Rounds (After JoSAA)

CSAB conducts 2 special rounds to fill vacant seats in NIT, IIIT, and GFTI colleges. Note: IITs do NOT participate in CSAB rounds.

Who can participate?

Students who did not get any seat in JoSAA
Students who got seat but want to upgrade (Float option)
Students who withdrew from JoSAA

⚠️ Important: CSAB rounds usually have limited options. Register early and fill choices wisely with expert guidance.
